Faren til Zakk Wylde er død

Mandag 19. januar sovnet Zakk Wyldes far stille inn etter kirurgiske komplikasjoner. Følgende er en uttalelse fra Zakk om hans fars bortgang:
My father, Jerome F. Wielandt who served as an inspiration to me and my
music throughout my life has passed away. His influence on my life and
the life of others has motivated me in ways that have been both
unexpected and profound.
My father spent his youth as a orphan in New Jersey who was
subsequently drafted to serve his country. A World War II veteran, he
participated in the events of D-Day at Omaha Beach as well as Normandy.
My father meant more than the world to me, and his passing will no
doubt influence my direction in life and career as this new year
continues to unfold.
I am asking fans to allow time for me and my family to grieve in private.

Lastly, 1919 Eternal was dedicated to dad, and is my legacy to this
unique individual I owe nearly everything to. I shall let that album
stand the test of time to his greatness.
